Instructions for RE Teachers

Age – 4 - 10

From September through mid-June, the Coordinator of Religious Education will supply teachers with a lesson plan and supplies for each Sunday. During the summer, children typically play games or do creative projects that vary from one week to the next.

Supplies are in the cabinet at the southwest corner of the social hall. Please use whatever you need

Lesson plans and supplies will be on the top shelf of the cabinet for teachers to pickup.

There’s an “emergency lesson” on the bottom shelf of the cabinet as well

Two leaders will be scheduled with any group of children to ensure adequate supervision and safety for all.

Children who participate need to meet our behavior standards as outlined in the congregation’s Guidelines for Right Relations.

Teachers may redirect children’s behavior, implement a brief “time out” when needed, and, if that is not successful, may retrieve the child’s parent/sponsor from upstairs to attend to the child.

In case of injury or illness, teachers may address minor situations as they feel able and should not hesitate to retrieve the child’s parent/sponsor from upstairs.
