Service to Our Community
Hood River Warming Shelter Over one dozen members of MCUUF serve at the area's winter warming shelter, run by Hood River Shelter Services. MCUUF members also serve on the shelter steering committee. |
Immigration Justice Living our UU values calls us to make justice and compassion visible in our world. We participate in weekly vigils outside the regional jail which has an ICE contract. Our minister regularly visits ICE detainees as part of a community collaborative. The congregation also offers annual scholarships for undocumented high school students, who are currently ineligible for federal financial aid.
